Introduction
Do you sense that? It's the excitement of a researcher that's about to make a discovery!
No? Oh, sorry, I completely forgot what you are - a soldier who's looking to complete an order and get what's his. A permit, am I right? What, you thought I was just some bookworm who couldn't see beyond his bone samples and history books? Mighty prejudiced of you, don't you think?
Still, our goals coincide, so there's nothing wrong with a little collaboration. Just to the west of here is an ancient June stele. Time has not been kind to it, but perhaps there's still some writing left on it that's discernible.
Take this tracing paper and make a copy of the runes on it for me! But watch yourself - there are a lot of elementals in that area. I reckon they're drawn to it for some reason.
This is why I haven't ventured there myself, but you're a fighter - you can manage. Get through to the obelisk, find some runes, and make a copy of them for me.

Let me see! Oh, my hands are shaking... I better calm down! Hmm... Of course! Now it makes perfect sense!
The June tried to domesticate dragons, seemingly unsuccessfully. One fine day the dragons broke the chains that bound them and regained their freedom. Many a June had died that day, and that stele was erected to commemorate the tragedy!
There, now everything has fallen into place. Now, you may consider this insignificant, but this is a huge discovery! Hmm, but then... Oh, how the cycle keeps repeating itself! One must know and revere history if one wants to avoid repeating others' mistakes!
There I go again, off on another tangent. The mystery is solved and in no small part thanks to you. You have earned my respect and a vote of confidence. I shall comply with your request and grant you a permit to visit Tensess Temple.
