The Outskirts of the Empire

Welcome to one of the farthest ends of the Empire! As you can see, once upon a time there was a sea here. But after the Great Cataclysm - that was it! All of the water poured straight into Astral, never to be seen again! Now all that's left is salt, sand, and the bones of ancient sea creatures.

The sand always gets everywhere, you know, and the salt constantly erodes the soles of our shoes. That's something you're just going to have to get used to around here. And make sure to watch out for the various vermin. They seem to flourish around here.

By the way, if you want to make some money I can point you in the right direction. My commander, Lieutenant Bodrin, has put a bounty on the scorpions around here. Just bring him some proof of your deeds and he'll reward you handsomely. You can find him right outside the large blue dome to the east - it's huge, you can't miss it.

The Lieutenant always hangs out around there. I'm sure he's trying to crack the mystery of how to get in. Hah! Everybody knows you need special connections to manage that. He should just give up.
