Salty Trouble

Even the air is permeated with salt. Can you feel it? No? Well, my baby can! I noticed it on his skin... I mean, bark... some strange salt growths, areas where salt has penetrated into his trunk.

What'll happen if the salt penetrates further and further, straight into his core... Oh, how my dead heart aches at the thought. I just can't let that happen!

We need to find out for sure what this salt can do to wood. They say that there are old ships around Baladur Port, and that their sides have been exposed to salt for more than a thousand years. That's an excellent place for me to begin my research. Please bring me four samples of this salted wood from the ships.

I've already treated baby's trunk and scrubbed off all the salt deposits. Unfortunately, there's no guarantee that this won't happen again...

Oh my goodness! Is this wood or a large salt crystal? I can't tell the difference! Just look at what the Dead Sea air can do!
