We must tell the de Desiraes everything we know. But in a way that prevents Vivien from being suspected of involvement. It's not going to be easy.
But first things first. I've studied the substance you found. it's certainly interesting and clearly of Astral origin. I have decided to call it Astral Ichor. It can accumulate magical energy, but this magic is blacker than darkness itself. It's the magic of death...
I can probably fool Marguerite by putting forward a believable theory about a certain artifact that caused this ichor to appear. But I will need samples to support my theory, and the more I have the better.
Get me another four Astral Ichor samples from the Twilight Gargoyles at the Eastern Border. I'll draft a report about the artifact and use the samples as evidence to support my conclusions.
