The Importance of Patronage

Do you know anything about the Twelve Great Martyrs? Alright, time for a brief excursion into history... The Great Mages managed to stop the destruction of the world during the Great Cataclysm by learning to hold back the Astral. It wasn't easy - twelve of the Great Mages died.

After the Great Cataclysm it was revealed that the Astral has twelve magical tides. Each of those has its own particular power and influence. It has been suggested that the source of this power comes from the twelve Great Mages that gave their lives during the Great Cataclysm.

The souls of the Great Mages are immortal you know - they can even withstand the Astral. Tensess is proof of this. This theory has its opponents but most of the inhabitants believe in this theory and attempt to get the patronage of one of the Great Mages, known as the Twelve Great Martyrs.

There is a shaman named Puwa the Crafty that can help you gain your patronage. You can find her in the Bort Quarter. After a quick ceremony you should be able to discover new strength.
