Truth about Grand Experiment

Open the cache in the tower in Novograd and take the Great Mage's diary to Lovewise Catfish.

I recorded The Great Experiment in detail for future generations, but I never had the courage to reveal the truth. I know that's cowardice, but the truth would mean the end of our world as we know it. A few mages were killed by the maddened commoners in the first years after the Cataclysm. Then the rebels died themselves, so there was no one left to protect their allods from the Astral. Just imagine what would have happened if I'd announced that it was us, the Great Mages, who killed this world? No, I could never do that. Yet the truth... The truth had to be kept.
There is a cache in the tower in the center of Novograd. There's a column in a hall on the second story, the floor dented at its foundation. Utter the words I'll tell you next to that column, and the cache will open. Use the papers inside as you deem appropriate, but remember that the truth can kill faster than the sharpest sword!

I can't believe my eyes! Those mages arranged the Cataclysm and almost destroyed the whole world? I don't believe it! I don't want to believe! But the diary...
You know, here's what I think. It doesn't matter what actually happened. The Great Mages paid for their mistake already by becoming prisoners to their own allods. It's not up to you or me to judge them.
I'll keep these papers, hide them on the farthest shelf and do my very best to forget all about them. The people believe in the wisdom and power of the Great Mages, and that faith supports them better than any true knowledge. Sometimes it's better not to know, and sufficient to simply believe.
