Amulets from the Lizardmen

Hello! It's rare to meet someone here apart from the normal outcasts. I am an ethnographer, and my specialty is studying the cultures of savage minorities in Sarnaut.

My biggest interest is the oasis to the northeast of here. Thousands of years ago it was an island populated by the waterfolk. They lived a peaceful existence for many years until the Great Cataclysm occurred.

Then the water receded, and from the bottom of the ocean came savage lizardmen. Then they forced out the waterfolk and took the place for themselves.

They don't look it, but those lizardmen are actually a very intelligent race. However, they're also very aggressive and... not very well researched. No scientist has yet managed to assimilate into their collective... herd... pack? Hmm, I need to think about the correct terminology.

I haven't managed to do that either - in fact I barely managed to escape the oasis with my life! However, I did notice they wear strange amulets around their necks. It would be excellent if I could get my hands on some of those. That would be a great place to begin my studies! If you're heading that way, could you please get me some?

Perhaps the lizardmen are in their mating season and that's why they're so aggressive? Maybe I should visit them at another time of year.
